Won't Chase You

A short poem about a search of a deeper meaning

I will not chase any haughty lover,
because I am on a journey of love towards myself.
Laugh at me all you want, you won’t blind me with anger.
I no longer want life to blind me with rage,
I want to become a part of something bigger than myself.
My light, my own light, without anyone turning it off.
Shining inside me with sweetness.
Reminding me that despite the odds, I exist.
I will not chase any haughty lover,
Because first I need to know who I am.
I don’t feel any fear.
There is no fear that hurts my soul.
I am not afraid to walk alone.
I know that inside my soul I have everything I need.
I will not give up halfway.
