The Influencer and The Introverted Writer
Part true story/part (kinda?) request for advice
(Another possible subtitle for this was “Or why fairytales would suck so much in real life”)
There was an introvert young girl, who, from an early age, dreamed to create beautiful things. She would grow up to write using a “Pixie”-like pseudonym.
She, being a dreamer, spent a lot of time watching music videos/listening to the radio and wondering how would it be life being a rockstar, like these she listened to, smashing guitars and all.
And there was a host of these kind of shows, whom caused on her an schoolgirl-like crush.
Tall, witty, pretty eyes… and a little bit older than her (for not to say 10+ years)
As back then social media wasn't the big thing, maybe she interacted with him ONE time, but nothing came out off it.
Years passed, and the then baby emo/goth/rocker teen, is now a full grown woman and found his teenage crush on social media.
She said “Hi” Oddly, he was receptive to her silliness. For a moment, both thought there was a “spark” between them. She, is now a low-key recognized writer, still a bit shy (although way less than she was a teen) BUT HIM… HIM…He is a huge online influencer, with over 30k friends on social media and over 300 in real life. All of these friends quite boisterous, talkative as hell. The kind of people who would do a dance in a crowded mall, and then, post it to TikTok.
He said to the shy writer “Maybe we can work it out”, but this lady started to feel dizzy, after realizing that hanging out with her crush, would mean being a part of the crowd who posts 10+ Instagram stories a day, who dream of being a TikTok influencer… So, she got cold feet, and is writing a post about it.
He is not by any means rude, some of his friends seem quite nice… Yet, she can't help feeling like a fish out of water, no matter how hard them tell her things like “You need to open up more on TikTok”, “You might enjoy partying and drinking if you are with a funny crowd”
What do you think about all this mess? What would you do?
In case you are a psychology junkie o MBTI aficionado, this Pixie is INFP-T 4w5, and guess that says a lot of things about why him and his colorful friends make her feel overwhelmed at times.
