Something To Sing About
Give me something good to sing about
Give me something good to sing about, my muse, An elixir of joy, an antidote to blues.
A lark’s trill at dawn, a child’s gleeful laugh, The echo of love, the comfort of a hearth.
Give me the melody of a babbling brook, The secrets held within a lover’s look.
Give me the whisper of the wind in the trees, The crescendo of waves in the boundless seas.
Give me the sonnet of a setting sun, The symphony of life, subtly spun.
The palette of autumn, painted in gold, A tale of courage, resolutely told.
Give me the poetry of a starlit night, The hymn of a soul taking flight.
The dance of flames in a hearth alight, A beacon of hope in the darkest night.
Give me the rhythm of a gentle rain, The refrain of healing, easing the pain.
Oh, give me something to sing about, I plea, The joys of life, in their grand symphony.
So I may sing of love and laughter’s cheer, Of dreams chased and held dear.
Give me something good to sing about, a tale, Of life’s journey, of setting sail.
On this vast ocean of life, so vast, so wide, Give me something good, with joy to be allied.
For in singing about the good, the joy, the cheer, We find life’s music to our heart, so near.
