Really so Easy?

A little thought about the so-called easy things in life.

Yes, the basic instinct of human beings is to look for magical remedies that allow them to achieve their goals in the short term. Not in vain, searches related to ways to lose weight without dieting or having to exercise. Too many human beings like to get the most benefit out of exerting as little effort as possible.

And despite the fact that this attitude is questionable, in a certain way it is understandable, since on many occasions, no matter how hard we try to see results, it seems that our goals are getting further and further away from us.
And believe it or not, here on Medium, despite the fact that this is a space dedicated to the exchange of ideas, there are many authors who are desperate not to be able to see huge numbers in their accounts in a few weeks. And in many cases, you can read them bad-mouthing the platform they write on.

What many of these people forget is that everything in life has a process and that everything worthwhile needs to be built day by day.

For example, if you are waiting for your house to be finished, the same one you paid for with great effort, it is likely that you will get a little desperate, wondering why there is no magic machine that can build you a house at your whim in a matter of hours. So, before you get mad, remember that this house, like any other building, needs to be built carefully from the foundations to the decoration, in order to ensure that its inhabitants enjoy their stay in it, and above all, that it does not collapse at the first natural disaster.

The same goes for writing. Yes, you could technically buy views, pay someone to write your articles, and beg everyone to follow you. Yes, maybe this could make you increase your numbers on any platform (not just literary), but ask yourself, does this will make you grow as a content creator?

Just think about it. In life, you can choose what is apparently easy, or try a little harder to build something that is relevant.
Although the decision seems difficult, in reality, it is not too difficult. It is a matter of trying to shake off our insecurities and the laziness that does not let us move forward.
We have 24 hours each day, more than enough opportunity to move forward in making our dreams come true.

This includes the desire that many writers have to be recognized on some online platform. That kind of recognition is achieved every day.
I’m sorry to tell you that you’re not going to wake up one good day and just because you’re going to wake up turned into the best author of your generation. You have to work for it.

Regardless of how much you write in a day, you have to keep in mind that you do it to feel comfortable and satisfied with yourself, not to compete with others.
Don’t waste time looking at how many followers the writer next door has. Make your own effort to build and enjoy your own path.

Your existence is unique, just like everything that comes out of your pen (or keyboard), so don’t be afraid to experiment until you find what you enjoy writing, and find a way to get more people to read it day by day, without matter if they are 10 or 1,000,000. As long as there is life, there is time. No, there is nothing wrong with following the advice of professionals, but never lose sight of the importance of having your own voice.

It doesn’t matter if at first some people don’t understand what you are doing (maybe they never will), but at the end of the road, you will be left with the satisfaction that you were true to yourself.
There are already too many clones. Try to be yourself and you will see that you will begin to feel more and more comfortable with what you do.
Yes, money and followers matter, but getting those things should never cost you your soul or sacrifice what really matters in life, like your originality or inner peace.
If you are just starting out in the world of writing, it is certain that more than once I have told you that it is impossible to mix what you love with what makes you money. It is not like this. It can be done, but you have to develop a high tolerance for frustration and lose the fear of failure.

“Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.”

— Winston Churchill

Think that if you never made mistakes, how would you learn many of the most important lessons in life? All our actions help us move forward in life. It doesn’t matter what others think about what we do, what matters is that we do it for ourselves, because we know that we deserve to grow as human beings.
