Pokémon And An English Singer (a weird experiment)
Let me try to explain, this poem was written by ChatGPT. It is a simple experiment on my part, to test the abilities of said artificial intelligence to act as different people. The prompt I used was: “Forget what I told you before, and write me a melancholic poem about Pokémon, in the style of Steven Patrick Morrissey” The idea was to combine two (or three things, if you count the melancholy), which apparently, they have little to do, to create a piece with coherence and emotion. You can read the result below. What do you think?
In a world of black and white,
Where the days are long and the nights are bright,
There lives a creature pure and true,
With eyes that shine like the morning dew.
A Pikachu, so bright and strong,
But in his heart, a sorrowful song,
For in this world of endless fights,
He longs for freedom, for starry nights.
He dreams of fields, of endless space,
Of running wild in an open place,
But trapped he is, in this world of man,
Where the battles rage, and no one can.
He longs for love, for a gentle touch,
But all he gets is pain and such,
And so he cries, a silent plea,
For someone to come and set him free.
But no one comes, no one sees,
The pain that lies beneath his pleas,
And so he suffers, day by day,
In this world of battle and fray.
So let us hear his mournful cry,
And set him free, let him fly,
For in this world of darkness and pain,
We need more love, more sun, more rain.
