Is not always the body
What attracts you to another person?
Sometimes, as part of some online/in-person chit-chat questions, we, women get often asked what the first thing is or what we like most about a man. A bunch of girls answers in the most obvious way, mentioning physical features in their answers. But why do girls that mention getting attracted to internal features, such as intelligence, tenderness, kindness often get mocked or get called “hypocrites”, even in a joking way?
A time to show off
Every single day we hear more and more on the news about certain celebrities whose only claim to fame is being outrageous and make a lot of noise on social media for all the wrong reasons. That has motivated too many young persons to believe that the only way of being relevant nowadays is to act like a clown every single day online or being as flashy as possible. The young ones are bombarded with messages telling that nowadays, nobody cares about things like soul or values. Is this what we really want to teach future generations?
Different ways of attraction
Indeed, for some persons, the physical features are everything when choosing a potential partner, but that’s not the case for every single person. We, as human beings, have different motivations to feel tracked to someone, as there are no two of us who are exactly the same, so it is absurd to expect another person to think, to desire the same way, and to have the same interests as us… and even more so. Have you heard about aromantic asexuals?
Vibes and Good Feelings
For non-sensitive persons, the whole idea of “vibes”, can be something laughable, but for another kind of people, there is “something” that attracts them o distances them from a person they are just getting to know. And that feeling doesn’t always match the physical attractiveness of the person in front of you. Listen to these feelings. Your soul might be trying to tell you something very important, so be open to listening with an open mind.
Be true to yourself
If you don’t find yourself drooling at every bikini-clad woman or shirtless guy you see online… There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. A lot of people are just like you, and it doesn’t mean you are some kind of weirdo. Don’t be afraid to express what you truly feel. Life is too short to waste it trying to please others.
