Is Being Optimistic Cringe-Worthy?I don't care

Sorry for not encouraging others to jump

After having some private content spread around (don’t worry, the police know about this), I had the displeasure of also being mocked by people I really respected. Want to know the cause? For being “too optimistic”.

Just as you read. This came from persons who come from old-money families, college educated and nice stable jobs. I am not saying this to try to diss them or to diminish the pain they might have gone through in their lives, but instead just to remind them that there is nothing wrong with having some kind of empathy towards others. My dear ones, not every single optimistic person you will know in life is trying to scam you or use others for personal benefit. And if you believe so, perhaps try opening up your mind a bit more?

I mean, if they can act all grimy, dark, and sarcastic all the time, and nobody criticizes them, why do they poke fun at the people who are trying to spread a lighter message to the world?

I know they think it is laughable that somebody like me, who had to live “the hard-knocks life”, is telling others to keep the faith and work harder every single day, instead of just telling the people to leave this world in the most painful possible way. But why does this bothers them so much?

Life is hard for everybody. Everybody knows this. Just look at the news or read your favorite newspaper. Personally, I think all my followers already know this, as they are adults with everyday duties in their lives, so I think it would be redundant to tell them in every chance I can that their lives are dark and meaningless, as that is the feeling a lot of people get just from being alive in this convulsed world.

The persons who mocked me, have their own problems (drugs, mental illness, conflicting relationships, and more), and you can guess it gets harder for me to understand why they wanted me to start mocking any mental health advocates or in a general way, just any person who dares to say that there is more to life than drowning into a bottomless pit of sorrow.

I am not, by any means, trying to imply that the world is a place of endless joy. In fact, I think we are surrounded by pain from the day we are born, so we have two choices: Drowning in a lake of pure sorrow or fighting to survive in order to see better days. Which one will you choose?
