I Choose To Forgive

This is a poem that hopes to bring to the reader a message of forgiveness and redemption for the soul.

Clearing away any doubt, I choose to forgive,

For the weight of anger and resentment is too heavy to live,

I let go of the pain and the hurt that once consumed me,

And I embrace a life filled with love and serenity.

I forgive the ones who have wronged me in the past,

For holding onto anger will only make the hurt last,

I choose to let go and move forward with grace,

For life is too precious to be wasted on hate.

I forgive myself for my mistakes and my flaws,

For I am human and I am bound to stumble and pause,

I choose to love myself unconditionally,

For that is the foundation of true inner harmony.

I forgive the world for its cruelty and its strife,

For I know that darkness cannot exist without light,

I choose to focus on the good and the kind,

For there is still beauty and wonder to find.

I forgive the sky for its clouds and its rain,

For without them, we would never know the sun’s golden reign,

I choose to appreciate the storms and the gray,

For they make way for a brighter and more colorful day.

I forgive the seasons for their changes and their flow,

For they remind us that life is a journey, a constant ebb, and flow,

I choose to savor every moment, every season,

For each one brings its own unique and special reason.

I forgive the past for its memories and its pain,

For they have taught me and shaped me, and made me who I am today,

I choose to honor the lessons and the growth,

For they have led me to a place of love and hope.

I forgive the future for its uncertainty and its fear,

For it reminds me to stay present and hold those I love near,

I choose to embrace the unknown and the new,

For it holds endless possibilities and dreams to pursue.

Clearing away any doubt, I choose to forgive,

And in doing so, I am liberated and free to live,

I am filled with a sense of peace and harmony,

And I know that I am capable of great love and empathy.

So let us forgive and let us love,

For it is the only way to rise above,

The pain and the hurt that once consumed us,

And embrace a life filled with joy and trust.

Clearing away any doubt, let us choose to forgive,

And in doing so, we will truly learn to live,

With open hearts and open minds,

For love and forgiveness are the ties that bind.
