I am what I am

I am this sensation that gets into every pore of your skin.
I am not a princess, because I have blood running through my veins. I don’t need your approval to show the world my worth. Yes, I have cried, but that has made my skin even tougher than titanium. I never want to lower my head again because I know how much I am worth. My worth is not based on jewelry or expensive clothing. I am worth what I carry within my soul.
Maybe you will never see it. After all, the world is blind to the things of love.
But I have the peace of mind of knowing that my voice will not be lost.
My voice will one day reach the very sky.
No, I don’t live to fill my face with expensive makeup.
No, I don’t live to try to look like a synthetic doll.
My voice is worth more than any hollow appearance.
If this makes you laugh, I don’t care.
In the same way I laugh at your conformity.
