Had A Chance
This guy had a chance, but he lost it.
Had a chance, slipped away like sand,
A silly guy, who didn’t quite understand,
The treasure before him, a wonderful girl,
But he let his foolishness unfurl.
In her eyes, a spark of enchantment,
A connection so pure, a rare alignment,
Yet he stumbled and fumbled with every word,
His nervousness a storm that couldn’t be curbed.
He had a chance to show his worth,
To unveil his heart, to prove his birth,
But in his silliness, he missed the cue,
And the opportunity slipped through.
Oh, how he laughed and cracked his jokes,
But beneath the laughter, a longing awoke,
He yearned for her smile, her gentle touch,
But his silliness became a barrier, a crutch.
In her presence, his heart danced a beat,
Yet he struggled to find the words so sweet,
He stumbled upon his own clumsy pride,
And the chance to win her heart soon died.
He knew the depth of his foolish mistakes,
Regret consumed him, with every breath he takes,
He played the fool, never showing his true face,
And now he’s left with a bitter taste.
Had a chance, a precious gift in his hand,
But he let it slip away like grains of sand,
The wonderful girl, now a distant dream,
Lost in the echoes of what could have been.
He reflects on the moments, the chances missed,
The words left unspoken, the opportunities dismissed,
He longs for another chance, a second try,
To show her the depths of his love, oh how he’ll try.
But life moves on, and chances are rare,
He knows he must let go and learn to repair,
The silly mistakes that held him back,
And open his heart to a different track.
For in every mistake, there’s a lesson to learn,
A chance to grow, a new page to turn,
And though he lost her, he gained wisdom anew,
To cherish the next chance, to love and pursue.
So he wanders through life, a wiser man,
With the memory of her, an eternal fan,
He carries the lessons, the pain, and the strife,
And hopes that one day, he’ll have a chance at a better life.
