A moment of love, an instant of eternity. I hope you enjoy this poem/short story

The night covers with its mantle a couple of lovers who, without fear of anything, surrender to the strongest of passions. Nothing, and no one, can break the magic of that small moment that seems to have been created from above.

Let’s call her Beatriz and him Saul, even though her name doesn’t really matter. They met when they were just a couple of teenagers, when life seemed to have a million surprises in store for them. Running together between packs of wolves, to try to find meaning in their lives.
She, petite and dark-haired, was the very embodiment of youthful rebelliousness, no matter how hard she tried to hide it. A worldly Venus with an undeniable taste for lemon vodka and unfiltered cigarettes.
A couple of lovers who met under the most difficult winds, the same ones that threatened to separate them long before their relationship was consolidated as something stable.
Saul, for his part, was a serious guy, a little rough looking. With a frown and always with a book under his arm.
A pair of anemones of light, as different as they are the same, who had the fortune to coincide in the same space and at the same time.
Watching sunrises holding hands and sleeping entangled during the cold nights.

Everything was not always perfect between them; there were times when both of them were carried away by the thunder that grew within their hearts.
However, letting themselves be guided by love, the two always found a way to reconnect. Kiss by kiss, moment by moment. The two devoured each other as if there was no tomorrow for them. Gentle caresses that soon turned into the most ardent outbursts of passion. Slowly but surely. Enjoying slowly, as you have to do with all the great pleasures of life.
Liquid illusion, that no matter how hard you try, it seems to never run out.

There are relationships that only serve for the two parties involved to learn much more about themselves and the other. Not everything necessarily has to end like a fairy tale with glitter, and magnificent explosions in the sky. There are relationships with a sweet earthly and mundane flavor, which do not lose their magic and charm.

Yes, Saul and Beatriz were mere mortals, but for an instant, they felt they owned infinity itself in their hands.
