A thought and a poem

Beauty is a concept that has fascinated human beings for centuries, inspiring all kinds of creators and philosophers to explore its many facets. While beauty is often considered subjective and difficult to define, there are some objective criteria that can be used to describe it. For example, symmetry, proportion, and harmony are often considered to be qualities that contribute to beauty in both nature and art. However, these criteria are not sufficient to provide a factual definition of beauty.

One reason why beauty is difficult to define is that it is largely shaped by cultural and social norms. What is considered beautiful in one culture may not be in another, and beauty standards can also change significantly over time. For example, in some cultures, a fuller figure is considered beautiful, while in others, a slimmer figure is preferred. Additionally, beauty standards are often tied to gender, with different expectations placed on men and women.

Another reason why beauty is a concept hard to define is that it is often intertwined with personal preferences and emotions. What one person finds beautiful may not be the same for another, and our perceptions of beauty can be influenced by our experiences and emotions. For example, a person may find a landscape beautiful because it reminds them of a happy memory, while another person may find it unremarkable.

So, below you can find a little poem about the definition of beauty

A Hard Definition

Beauty is something hard to define,

As there are many ways to express it,

It’s not just about what we see,

But also about what we feel and hear.

It’s in the gentle sound of a bird’s song,

The way the leaves dance in the wind,

The vibrant colors of a sunset,

And the smell of freshly baked bread.

Beauty is in the way a mother smiles,

As she looks upon her newborn child,

The laughter of friends gathered together,

And the warmth of a lover’s embrace.

It’s the delicate petals of a flower,

The intricacies of a spider’s web,

The majesty of a mountain peak,

And the serenity of a calm sea.

Beauty is not just in the physical,

But also in the intangible,

In the kindness of a stranger,

And the forgiveness of a wrong.

It’s in the resilience of the human spirit,

The courage to face life’s challenges,

And the determination to never give up,

Even when the road ahead seems long.

Beauty is in the acceptance of differences,

The celebration of diversity,

And the recognition of the value,

Of every unique human being.

It’s the art that moves us to tears,

The poetry that speaks to our soul,

The music that stirs our heart,

And the dance that sets us free.

Beauty is in the moments we cherish,

The memories we hold dear,

The love that we give and receive,

And the joy that we share with others.

It’s in the simple pleasures of life,

The beauty that surrounds us every day,

And the gratitude we feel in our hearts,

For the gift of being alive.

So let us celebrate beauty in all its forms,

And recognize its presence in our lives,

For it is a reminder of the wonder,

And the magic of the world we inhabit.
