Cruel Angel (Poem)
A poem with a hint of darkness
The cruel angel keeps staring down,
Dreaming of the day of retribution,
Its wings are tattered, feathers brown,
But its eyes burn with fierce determination.
The world below, so full of pain,
Where war and hate reign supreme,
The angel longs to end the strain,
To bring peace and fulfill its dream.
For ages it has watched and waited,
Endlessly patient, never giving in,
Its heart filled with hope, unabated,
That one day, love will conquer sin.
The angel knows its time will come,
When the stars align and fate is sealed,
It will descend from the heavens, as one,
And humanity’s wounds will finally be healed.
The world will tremble, as the angel approaches,
Its wings spread wide, glowing with light,
The people will look up, amazed and hopeful,
As the angel descends, with all its might.
No more pain, no more suffering,
No more war, no more hate,
The angel will bring love and understanding,
And the world will finally be great.
So dream on, cruel angel, dream on,
And know that your dream will one day come true,
For in your heart, the light of hope has shone,
And that is enough to see you through.
The world may be dark and full of fear,
But you are the light that shines so bright,
And when you finally descend from up here,
The world will be bathed in your radiant light.
So keep dreaming, cruel angel, keep dreaming,
For one day, you will fly down to us,
And with your love, the world will be gleaming,
With a hope and a promise that we can trust.
