Believe in your Abilities
There is nothing good with doubting yourself so badly.
I think almost everybody has been there. You have been practicing a lot, it doesn’t matter if it was for the theater play at your school, or for the soccer match. The day comes, when you have to put everything you have learned into practice, but instead of feeling capable of taking down any challenge you might encounter, you find yourself feeling more insecure than ever, no matter if everybody in the crow is cheering for you. Why does this happen?
We are human
Believe it or not, a natural part of being human is doubting ourselves now and then. No matter how hard we have studied, no matter how bad we have practiced anything we want to; in the end, we are always going to have a certain shadow of doubt with us. It is inherent to the changing nature of the human heart, and we can do little to completely erase it from our minds, so we gotta learn with it.
Past wounds
Everybody has some wounds from their past. Ask yourself if that feeling of insecurity started from any painful memory. Perhaps you grew up in a very strict household, with parents who spend most of their time criticizing you and every move you made, instead of motivating you to keep going. Or maybe they, or every adult you grew up with, were very insecure and without putting a lot of thought into it, made you feel the same way as they felt.
Am I destined to be insecure all my life?
No. No painful memory, or difficult childhood, should be enough reason to determine your future. Every action you make, every chance you take, allows you to modify what is going to happen to you in the future. Remember that every single day is a blank page that gives you a chance to start over again.
You are strong enough
You have put all your heart into what you want to achieve. Only you know how many tears you have shed, wanting to play your best role. So, don’t put your mind into diminishing your own strength. Believe in yourself, no matter if nobody else does. In the end, the only one who is going to be your companion all of your lifetime is yourself.
Practice
It doesn’t matter if you have already practiced a bit. If you have time and enough will to do it, practice or study a little more, always being careful not to overdo yourself. Just do it to feel more confident about what are you going to do it. Nobody gets born knowing everything about every single thing in the world.
Help
Everybody needs a bit of help occasionally. So, if you feel as if fear and insecurity is getting the worst of you, please, consider seriously the possibility of getting professional help. You deserve to be happy and to become the best version of yourself.
