Are We Scared Of Ourselves?

Or are we just “too busy with the noise of our minds?”

It is important that we start thinking about who we really are. Are we the people who eternally look happy on Instagram? Those of us who fight with others on Twitter? Or are we simply human with virtues and defects? What matters, in the end, is that we learn to recognize our vices and virtues, and that we continue in our fight to be better human beings.

I’m not afraid of my demons anymore,

I learned how to dance with them,

I opened up my soul’s closed door,

And discovered a new way to begin.

Looking inside my soul,

I found a hidden strength,

A place where I could be whole,

And go to any length.

I faced the darkest parts of me,

The ones that I kept inside,

And I found the courage to see,

That I no longer had to hide.

I learned to embrace my fears,

And dance with my demons in the night,

To shed my doubts and my tears,

And let my soul take flight.

Looking inside my soul,

I found a light that shines so bright,

A place where I can be whole,

And where my heart feels light.

I’m not afraid of my demons anymore,

For they have made me strong,

And as I dance with them on the floor,

I know where I belong.

Looking inside my soul,

I see the beauty of my scars,

And I know that I am whole,

Just the way that I am.

So let the demons dance with me,

For I know that I am free,

And as I embrace my destiny,

My soul will forever be.
