10 Things about me Patricia Pixie❤
First things first: Thank you very much Izanamikun for tagging me.
- I look much younger than I am.
I enclose proof of my claim. This is my Twitter account, and yes it’s me in the photo. A girl never tells her age, but I’m what they call an “early 90s baby,” and yet, when I was in my early twenties, I was still offered the kids’ menu at restaurants a couple of times. Yes, it’s great to look younger than you are, but it has its downsides. It’s easy to easily attract the wrong kind of men, due in part to the media’s heavy fetishization of youthful appearance. Also, it’s annoying getting asked for ID in many places where people your age usually don’t anymore. Hey! But the youthful appearance is worth it…or is it NOT?
2.- I deeply dislike corn (cobs).
I am Mexican, born and living in Mexico. And for that, it is unfortunate for me that my stomach simply hates one of the pillars of the local gastronomy. Don’t get me wrong. I love and can eat pretty well just about any traditional dish made with processed corn (tamales, gorditas, enchiladas, quesadillas…), but eating corn kernels has been terribly upsetting to my stomach since I was a child. Level, eating it makes me violently sick. A doctor said it could be an allergy or just maybe my stomach can’t digest corn kernels at all… Oh well…
3.-I am a nervous person, but I enjoy going to concerts
For this reason, some people have accused me of faking anxiety. Yes, crowds make me nervous, but for me, nothing compares to the pleasure of listening live to a group or soloist that you have followed for a long time. When the concert is about to start, I forget about the crowd, and I can focus perfectly on enjoying the artist’s music.
4.-I have been told that I have a relaxing voice
When I was in elementary school I was part of the school choir. And from there, my voice is one of my qualities that have been praised the most. Even a teacher once told me that some of my classmates had told her that they really enjoyed it when it was my turn to read a textbook passage aloud. I have not received much formal training, but since I like to keep it in good shape, I love reading texts that talk about voice or sound and watching Youtube videos on vocal technique.
5.-I don’t like several aspects of the modern “celebrity culture”.
I have over 100k followers on TikTok and over 70k on Twitter, and yet there are several aspects of modern influencer culture that are downright pathetic to me, and because of them, I would rather write than seek to develop myself as a commercial influencer. I believe that if you are lucky enough to be followed by so many, you have an ethical duty to use your influence for something positive, for something that brings something real to the world. I don’t doubt that posting photos of your butt feeds your ego, but why not alternate that with something a little different from time to time?
6.-I believe in humor (even if it doesn’t seem like it)
I’m the type of girl who always has a straight face, however, please don’t go by my appearance. There’s nothing I enjoy more than a good meme, a funny joke (even a raunchy one), or well-applied sarcasm. My life hasn’t exactly been easy, that’s why, in order not to throw myself on the floor to cry for my existence, I learned to laugh at those moments that could seem like misfortunes to others.
7.-We started with the smut, and now we are here.
Being on the net since I was about 16 years old, it is not surprising that soon some pretty dirty fanfic fell in front of my eyes. And as a logical consequence of enjoying it, I soon started writing my own racy pieces. And to my surprise, other girls really liked what I wrote. I kept doing it, expanding my horizons to other genres, and the rest is history.
8.- I like to cook.
I took 3 years of home economics at school, and although many young people hate cooking, I think it has a certain charm that is hard to explain. It’s relaxing to choose the ingredients and taste the dish until it tastes as good as possible. I’m not a MasterChef, but I like what I do. I believe that in this age of greasy and spicy food, knowing how to cook is a great help to your personal well-being. In fact, one of the things that I would most like in life is to have a large and well-equipped kitchen, so that I can freely prepare the dishes that I like the most.
9.- I don’t suck at Fortnite
You don’t need to tell me, I’m far outside the demographic that Fortnite (and many video games) is aimed at, but strangely enough, I’m not bad at playing it. In fact, after a hard day, one of the things that relax me the most is a good game of Fortnite in Battle Royale mode. When I play as part of a team, I often win or finish in the top 10, and when I play solo I often get top 20. if you play you can find me there as patypixie.
10.-Light and Darkness (Duality)
It’s true, I like things that are colorful, glittery, and have cute patterns. But I also like dark items, the kind of stuff many classify as goth. The same kind of duality applies to many aspects of my everyday life. I love reading and watching stuff about sordid historical facts/the human mind, and at the same time, know how to enjoy some tearjerker movie. What can I say? Without sinners, there would be no saints, and without night, we couldn’t fully enjoy a sunny day.
